When launching Protected Browser in Kaspersky Fraud Prevention 4.0 for Endpoint, you may encounter the message: "Run error. Failed to run Protected Browser: 0x80000221".

The error may be caused by modification of standard Windows libraries. This can happen when a custom Windows visual theme is applied.


  1. Remove all third party Windows visual themes.  
  2. Run the sfc/scannow system file scanner.
If the error persists, send a request to your bank technical support.
