Creating the master password

The master password is created when the application is used for the first time. The master password protects data in the vault. You enter the master password when you want to unlock the vault.

Only you must know the master password. Otherwise, the safety of your data will be compromised.

You can change the master password if you wish. If you forget the master password, it cannot be restored.

To create a master password:

1. In the Master password window, enter and confirm the password you came up with.

   Kaspersky Password Manager automatically evaluates the strength of the password you entered.

2. If the password you have entered is weak, click on the icon to the right of the password.

   You will see the strength level of your password and suggestions for creating a strong password.

3. Follow the instructions and change the password to a strong one.
4. Click the Done button.

The master password is created.
