Scanning the computer
Kaspersky Rescue Disk includes the Kaspersky Rescue Tool software for scanning and disinfecting a computer. Kaspersky Rescue Tool can perform a standard scan of your computer. As part of this scan, the application scans system memory, startup objects, and boot sectors of your computer for viruses and other malware. Kaspersky Rescue Tool scans files of all formats, including the contents of archives.
Kaspersky Rescue Tool scans only Windows computers.
To scan your computer:
- Boot from the Kaspersky Rescue Disk.
After starting, Kaspersky Rescue Disk automatically runs the application for scanning the computer.
- Start Kaspersky Rescue Tool.
The main window of Kaspersky Rescue Tool is displayed.
- Click Start scan.
If necessary, edit the scan scope.
Kaspersky Rescue Tool scans the computer. When the scan is complete, Kaspersky Rescue Tool displays the results of the scan. The application also generates an application performance report.
