Migrating Kaspersky Web Traffic Security from CentOS to Rocky Linux

This section provides information on how to migrate a Kaspersky Web Traffic Security 6.1 cluster deployed from an ISO file based on CentOS 7.7 to the same version of the application based on Rocky Linux 9.5.

The cluster is migrated by deploying new Rocky Linux 9.5 virtual machines one by one and adding these virtual machines to the cluster as Secondary nodes, and then removing CentOS 7.7 nodes one by one. At the final stage, the Control Node is replaced.

Migrating the cluster involves the following steps:

  1. Preparing the virtualization environment
  2. Preparing the cluster for the migration procedure
  3. Replacing Secondary cluster nodes

This procedure is performed sequentially for Secondary nodes until all are replaced by Rocky Linux 9.5 nodes. To do so:

    1. Create and prepare a new cluster node with the Secondary role
    2. Commission the new cluster node with the Secondary role
    3. Decommission and remove the old node with the Secondary role
  4. Replacing the Control Node of the cluster

Assign the Secondary node role to ther Control Node, and assign the Control Node role to one of the Secondary nodes. Then, for the old Control Node, complete step 3.
