How to add exclusions in Kaspersky Small Office Security 5 for Personal Computer

If Kaspersky Small Office Security 5 does not allow you to use a file or blocks an application you need to use, you can add the file or the application to exclusions. You should only add applications you trust to the exclusions list. 

To bypass scanning of specific files or applications:

  1. Open Settings in Kaspersky Small Office Security 5, by clicking the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the main window.

  1. In the Settings window, go to the Additional section and select Threats and Exclusions.

  1. In the Threats and exclusions settings window, click the Manage exclusions link.

  1. In the Exclusions window, click Add.

  1. In the Add a new exclusion view, find the File or folder section and click Browse

  1. Select the folder or enter the path to the file or a folder. Click Select.

  1. If you want to exclude a specific type of threats according to the Virus Encyclopedia, add its name or a mask into the Object field.
  2. In the Protection components section, select the check boxes for the components to which the exclusion rule will be applied.
  3. Select the rule status:
    • Active. The application does not scan selected files or folders.
    • Inactive. The application scans files and folders ignoring the rule.
  1. In the Add new exclusion rule window, click Add.
