Prerequisites for installing the new version of the application on an existing mail server:

  • The server satisfies the hardware requirements of the new application version: number of CPU cores, amount of RAM, and free disk space.
  • The server satisfies the software requirements of the new application version: operating system type and version, MTA type and version.
  • On this server, you can stop processing email traffic while you are installing and configuring the new version of the application.
  • There is no need to keep the data from the previous version of the application: the contents of Backup and quarantines, the event log, and reports. This data is deleted.

To install KSMG on an existing server:

  1. Stop processing email traffic on the server, for example, by redistributing the load to other servers.
  2. Save the settings and data of Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server installed on this server.
  3. Remove Kaspersky Security 8 for Linux Mail Server.
  4. Delete the integration settings of the previous version of the application from the configuration files of the mail server and the web server.
  5. Complete the steps for installing a new version of the application.
