Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 runs automatically on Windows startup. If you did not change the application's startup settings, your computer is always protected even if the anti-virus window is hidden.
In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security 2017, you can find the information about your computer protection status, protection settings, anti-virus bases release date and the license term.
To open the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security 2017, double-click the application icon on Desktop or click the icon in the notification area (lower-right corner of Desktop).
If the application icon is hidden from the notification area, click the Show hidden icons arrow, then click the Kaspersky Lab icon.
If there is no Kaspersky Lab icon in the Taskbar notification area, the application is not running and your computer is not protected. For the guide on how to start the application, see the block below.
To run the application, you can double-click the Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 Desktop icon which is created automatically during installation:
Double-click the avpui.exe file.
To open the settings, right-click the application icon in the lower-right corner of the Desktop. On the shortcut menu, select Settings.
If Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 does not start, then protection does not work or works incorrectly. To solve the problem, restore default settings of the application.
