Local tasks are applicable only to the protected server they have been created for. Local tasks can be divided into the following categories according to the start-up method:

  • Local system tasks are created automatically when installing Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition. You can modify settings of all system tasks except Scan Quarantine objects and Database update rollback. System tasks cannot be renamed or deleted. System and user On-demand-scan tasks can be started simultaneously.
  • Local user tasks. Kaspersky Anti-Virus console allows adding new On-demand-scan tasks. Kaspersky Administration Kit console allows adding new On-demand-scan, Program database update, Database update rollback, Updates distribution tasks. These tasks are called user tasks. They can be renamed, customized and deleted. You can start several user tasks simultaneously.

How to create a new On-demand-scan task:

  • Open On-demand-scan contextual menu in the console tree and select the command Add tasksAdd task dialogue box will open.
  • Enter the following information about the task:
    • Name – task name, 100 symbols max, can contain any symbols except % ? ? \ | / : * < >.
    • Description – any additional information about the task, 2000 symbols max. This information will be displayed in task properties dialogue box.
  • You can configure the following task settings, as necessary:
    • Use heuristic analyzer. By default, the heuristic analyzer is disabled in new created On-demand-scan tasks. You can change the depth of analysis by moving the slider to a desired position (only if the box Use heuristic analyzer is checked).
    • Apply trusted zone. By default, the trusted zone is enabled in new created On-demand-scan tasks. Uncheck the box Apply trusted zone to disable it.
    • Execute task in the background. The task will start with low priority if you check the box Execute task in the background.

  • Click the button OK. The task will be created. It will appear in the console. The operation will be registered in the system audit log.
