Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone is installed on BlackBerrу devices using cod and jad files:

  • jad is a standard file for uploading java applications on mobile deivices.
  • cod file format has been developed by the company RIM and is used for installing applications on Blackberry devices.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone distribution package for BlackBerry consists of a single .jad and several .cod files.

The installation is is carried out by running a jad file on the mobile device. The jad file should be pointing to the corresponding cod distribution files.

Information All the jad and cod files should be in the same installation source folder.

Below you can find possible options for installing Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone on  BlackBerrу devices:

  • From Kaspersky Lab website

    You should find the file Endpoint8_Mobile_8.x.xx_en.jad on the Technical support website and open it in your mobile device browser. The file is located on a KAspersky Lab server in the following folder:

http://products.kaspersky-labs.com/english/special/kesmobile/blackberry/
Endpoint8_Mobile_8.x.xx_en.jad file contains a link that automatically runs the .cod files located in the same folder..

  • By copying the distribution package to a local http server

    The administrator should copy the entire content of the http://products.kaspersky-labs.com/english/special/kesmobile/blackberry/ folder into a single folder on an http server observing the folder structure.

    The administrator then sends a link to the jad file to the user (user can also find and run the .jad file from the http server). Then the Endpoint8_Mobile_8.x.xx_en.jad file executes the .cod files.

  • Email Installation

    The administrator sends a link to the Endpoint8_Mobile_8.x.xx_en.jad file to the user. The user opens the linked .jad file. Then the installation proceeds as described above.
