Once Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 is installed there may appear situations when the OS functions unstable. For example, at computer or task start there appear error messages informing about errors in the OS work. In this case most probably there the program conflicts with any software installed on your computer or with drivers of your computer.
To resolve the error, Kaspersky Lab Technical support may need trace files of the application components.
The actions described below are NOT RECOMMENDED to perform without guidance of the Technical Support expert. Accidental enabling of the product traces might result in the loss of free space on the hard drive.
To get the trace files of the Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 components, do the following:
Technical Support expert should advise you which trace level to configure. If the trace level has not been specified, it is recommended to set the level to Recommended.
If a component (or its subsystem) that caused the failure is identified, then before tracing it is recommended to disable all components of Kaspersky Internet Security except the problem one (for example, if the Web Anti-Virus component works incorrectly, disable all components except Web Anti-Virus).
Trace files will be created with the .log extension. Trace files have the following file name format:
[Product name]_[Product version]_[Creation date]_[Creation time]_[Random symbols]_[Trace type].
For example:
In some cases, Kaspersky Lab Technical Support specialists may ask to generate the *HST.log file (for example, KAV.13.0.0.3370_06.25_14.05_3984.HST.log). Instructions on how to generate the file will be provided by Kaspersky Lab Technical Support specialists.
