Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 includes a new technology, Trusted Applications mode. The mode blocks all applications, which were not identified as trusted applications (for example, Kaspersky Security Network does not contain data concerning applications or a download resource is untrusted). In this case, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 allows launching only known and trusted applications and provides high-quality computer protection.

By default, the Trusted Applications mode is disabled. At the first mode start, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 will analyze your operating system and installed applications. Be aware that analysis may take more than an hour.

The Trusted Applications mode functions only if the Application Control, File Anti-Virus and System Watcher components are enabled.

To enable/disable the Trusted Applications mode, perform the following actions:

  1. Open Kaspersky Internet Security 2014.
  2. Click the up-arrow button.

  1. In the open menu select Application Control.

  1. In the Application Control window perform the following actions:
  • Enabling the mode

  • To enable the mode, in the Trusted Applications mode section click the Enable link.

  • Analysis of installed applications starts. Wait until the analysis is complete.

  • If the application detects unknown system files or applications, the corresponding message will appear in the Trusted Applications mode window. To open a list of unknown files, click the Go to the list of unknown system files link.

  • If you enable the mode, the application will block all unknown files. If you do not want to block them, click the Do not enable Trusted Applications mode button.

  • If you want to enable the mode, but allow running detected unknown files, click the Allow running unknown system files and continue link at the bottom of the window.

  • Click the Enable Trusted Applications mode by default button.

Disabling the mode

  • To disable the mode, in the Trusted Applications mode section click the Disable link.

  1. Close the application window.
