Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2017 features a Self-Defense mechanism which protects the application settings and files against any kind of third party interference. You may need to disable this feature in order to delete tracing logs and free the hard drive space.

Self-Defense disabling partially restricts Kaspersky Anti-Virus functionality and lowers the level of overall system protection.

To enable or disable Self-Defense:

  1. Open the settings of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2017 by clicking the gear icon in the lower-left corner of the main window.
