This section explains how to create, manage, and deploy custom images (environments) that you can later use for executing files and browsing web addresses in the Sandbox. This section also describes how you can delete unnecessary environments, templates, and storage media.
The custom execution environments management is available only for Kaspersky Research Sandbox users with administrator privileges (Role=Admin
).
The custom environment creation and deployment scenario consists of the following steps:
Upload storage media (ISO files) to Kaspersky Research Sandbox on the Storage media tab on the Templates & Storage page.
You can also upload the required storage media at any time during the creation of templates.
Create a new template on the Templates tab on the Templates & Storage page.
Mount storage media to a template. You can unmount it at any time.
Start template configuring. Install an operating system and required software on the virtual machine.
For the correct functioning of a custom environment, perform the required actions that are described in the step 7 of the configuration procedure, and take into consideration the functionality limitation described in the section Configuring a custom environment.
Deploy a configured template. This procedure may be time consuming.
Upon completion of the scenario, deployed environments (images) are available for file execution in the Sandbox. You can select the required environment in the Execution environment drop-down list on the Sandbox page. Templates are available for further configuration and deployment. Storage media are uploaded to Kaspersky Research Sandbox and can be used to create new templates for custom environments.
