Idle Scan is an option that makes antivirus consume less resources when you need them most.

If the Idle Scan is enabled, resource-intensive tasks will be automatically performed when you are not using the computer. The application presumes that you are not using the computer if it is locked or the screensaver has been displayed for five minutes. Resource-intensive tasks are update and scan tasks (this includes scanning the system memory, startup objects, and the system drive).

When you resume your work, these activities will pause. Next time you have a break, scan tasks will resume from the very point at which it stopped. As for update, it will start over.

Note:  when the computer is running on battery power, the resource-intensive tasks will not be performed at all.

To enable or disable the Idle Scan option:

  1. Open Settings in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2016 .
  2. In the Settings view, go to Performance and select or clear the check box Perform Idle Scan.
