Installation error during an automatic version update

During an update and installation of a new version of Kaspersky Free, you may receive the error message that the application has been updated but old version files have not been removed. Should this happen, do the following:

  1. Remove Kaspersky Free using the removal tool. To download the tool and learn how to use it, follow this link.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Download and install a more advanced application, Kaspersky Security Cloud Free.For instructions on installing the application, see, see this article.

What to do if the issue persists

If the issue reoccurs in Kaspersky Security Cloud Free, try looking up your issue in Community or create a new topic if the issue is not described.
