If you get the message "Connection not protected” when opening a website, it means the website might not be safe. Should this be the case, your account details and other personal information could end up in the hands of criminals. We therefore recommend that you don’t open websites with certificate issues. 

A certificate is a digital signature which ensures that the user’s connection to the website is encrypted. It also confirms that the website is genuine.

If you don’t want these messages to appear, disable encrypted connections scanning or add the website to the exclusions list. See below for instructions on how to do so.
