An activation code is a code that you receive when purchasing a license or subscription for Kaspersky Internet Security. This code is required to activate the application.

An activation code is a unique combination of twenty Latin letters and numbers in the form xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-ххххх.

An activation code may be blocked by Kaspersky if the License Agreement has been violated. If the activation code has been blocked, you need to add another one if you want to use the application.

An activation code can be an active activation code or a reserve activation code.

An active activation code is an activation code that is currently used by the application. The application cannot have more than one active activation code.

A reserve activation code is an activation code that entitles the user to use the application, but is not currently in use. A reserve activation code automatically becomes active when the license associated with the current activation code expires. A reserve activation code can be added only if an active activation code is already present. A reserve activation code cannot be added if you are using a subscription. A subscription cannot be added as a reserve activation code.

Depending on how you purchased the application, you can obtain the activation code in one of the following ways:

  • When you purchase a boxed version of Kaspersky Internet Security, an activation code is provided in the manual or on the retail box that contains the installation CD.
  • When you purchase Kaspersky Internet Security from an online store, an activation code is emailed to the address that you specified when ordering.

If you have lost or accidentally deleted your activation code after activating the application, contact Kaspersky Technical Support.
