Creating a temporary password using the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console
To create a temporary password and send it to a user:
Open the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console.
In the Managed devices folder of the Administration Console tree, open the folder with the name of the administration group that includes the computer of the user requesting the temporary password.
In the workspace, select the Devices tab.
In the context menu of the computer belonging to the user requesting the temporary password, select Properties.
The Properties: <Computer name> window opens.
In the Properties: <Computer name> window, select the Applications section.
Select Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows and open the application properties window by using one of the following methods:
Click the Properties button at the bottom of the screen.
In the context menu of the application, select Properties.
This opens the Application settings "<Application name>" window.
In the Application settings "<Application name>" window, in the General Settings section, select Interface.
In the Password protection section, click the Settings button.
The Password protection window opens.
In the Password protection window, in the Temporary password section, click the Settings button.
This button is available if password protection is enabled for Kaspersky Security Center in the Kaspersky Security Center policy that is running on the computer.
The Create temporary password window opens.
In the Expiration date field, specify the date on which the user will no longer be able to use the temporary password.
On this date, the temporary password will become invalid. A new temporary password must be created for providing access to perform operations in the local interface of Kaspersky Endpoint Security.
In the Temporary password scope table, select the check boxes opposite the operations that must be available to the user while the temporary password is valid.
Click the Create button.
This opens the Temporary password window containing an encrypted password.
Copy the password and instructions on applying it and send them to the user.
