If you forget the master password
For security reasons, Kaspersky Password Manager doesn't store the master password on any of your devices or in cloud storage. We recommend that you memorize your master password, or write it down and keep it in a secure place, because it can't be restored or recovered if forgotten.
If you forget your master password, you will no longer be able to access your data. In this case, you will have to create a new vault and protect it with a new master password. Then you will be able to add new data to the vault.
Create a new data vault protected with a new master password
- In a Kaspersky Password Manager window, tap Forgot your master password.
- In the window that opens, tap Reset and erase if you agree to create a new data vault.
Creating a new data vault will delete all data protected with the forgotten master password from all your devices and the cloud storage.
- In the window that opens, enter the password for your My Kaspersky account and tap Continue.
The Create master password for new vault window opens.
- Enter a new master password.
- Confirm your new master password.
For security reasons Kaspersky Password Manager hides data you enter and replaces it with dots. To view data, tap
