This article concerns:

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus
  • Kaspersky Internet Security
  • Kaspersky Total Security

Users who have already purchased an activation code for Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Total Security can purchase a new activation code (a renewal code) at a discount. Therefore, when you activate a Kaspersky lab product with a renewal code, the application checks whether an activation code for that product has been applied on that computer in the past:

  • If data about the previous activation code is found, the license term is renewed for the full term.
  • If no relevant data is found, a window will appear prompting you to enter the previous activation code manually. Select the checkbox Enter the previous activation code, enter your previous activation code and click Register and continue.

If the code you entered corresponds to your Kaspersky Lab product, the license will be renewed for the full period.

You will encounter an error if the code you entered is:

  • Invalid.
  • Blocked.
  • Not found on the activation server.
  • Not applicable in the region where you are attempting to renew the application.
  • Has already been used for a renewal.
  • Distributed for free as a part of a promotional campaign.

Should this be the case, elect the I agree to decrease the license term by... checkbox and click Register and continue.

The application will be activated with a reduced license term.
