The Kaspersky Scan Engine functionality includes differentiation of access rights for users. Access rights are defined by the user roles assigned to each user of Kaspersky Scan Engine. Assigning the user role with limited access rights to ordinary information security employees allows them to monitor and analyze incidents, but they cannot change the configuration of Kaspersky Scan Engine.

There are two user roles In Kaspersky Scan Engine:

  • Administrator has full access to the Kaspersky Scan Engine functionality.
  • Operator has limited access to the Kaspersky Scan Engine functionality.

  • The following functions are unavailable:
    • Restarting Kaspersky Scan Engine (Restart button).
    • Updating anti-virus database (Update button).
    • Deleting all data from the anti-virus database and getting the new data (Update from scratch button).
    • Changing the key file or the activation code (Change button).
  • Limited data set in the table of events. Operator can only view events related to scanning and events initiated by themselves.
