To configure NTLM authentication of a host that is not in an Active Directory domain:

  1. On enterprise LAN computers, in the browser settings, specify the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server hosting the Squid service as the proxy server.
  2. To save account credentials in the operating system and avoid having to enter them every time the browser starts, open Windows Credential Manager (StartControl PanelCredential Manager).
  3. Click Add a Windows credential.
  4. In the window that opens, specify the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the server hosting the Squid service and the domain account of the user.
  5. Click OK.

NTLM authentication will be configured.
