The default protection policy is applied to web resources that do not satisfy the filtering criteria of any of the traffic processing rules. In the policy settings, for each type of object you must set the action that the application must take on these objects.

To configure the default protection policy:

  1. In the application web interface window, select the SettingsGeneralProtection settings section.
  2. In the Default policy settings group, select the actions that the application must take on the following types of objects:
    • Malware:
      • Block.
      • Block, disinfect if possible.
      • Skip scanning.
    • Objects detected by KATA:
      • Block.
      • Skip scanning.
    • Phishing:
      • Block.
      • Skip scanning.
    • Malicious link:
      • Block.
      • Skip scanning.
    • Encrypted object:
      • Block.
      • Skip scanning.
    • Document with a macro:
      • Block.
      • Skip scanning.

By default, the Block, disinfect if possible value is set for Malware. The Block value is set for all other types of objects.

  3. Click Save.

The default protection policy will be configured. If the scan does not detect any threats, access to the web resource will be allowed.
