Kaspersky Safe Kids for Microsoft Windows

Enabling protection on the computer

To enable protection, specify the following information in Kaspersky Safe Kids:

  • Which children use the computer
  • Which account is used by every child to sign in to Windows

Protection is enabled when the application links information about PC use with a child's profile.

To specify which children use the computer:

  1. In the Who will be protected on this computer? window, toggle the switch to Protect next to the name of the child who uses the computer.
  2. Click the Continue button.

The Which account does the <child's name> use on this computer? window opens. In this window you can link a child's profile to an account.

To specify which account the child uses to sign in to Windows:

  1. In the Which account does the <child's name> use on this computer? window, click the name of the account used by the child to sign in to Windows.
  2. In the window that opens, click the Finish button.

The child's profile is linked to the PC account and protection is enabled. The child is protected by Kaspersky Safe Kids when the child uses his or her own account to sign in to Windows.

If the child does not have an account of his or her own, the application helps to create it.

To create an account for the child:

  1. In the Which account does the <child's name> use on this computer? window, click Create new account.

    The new account window opens.

  2. Specify the child's name.
  3. Set a password for the child's account.
  4. Click the Continue button.

The application creates an account for the child and links it to the child's profile. The child has to select the account with his or her name to sign in to Windows.
