Kaspersky Safe Kids for Microsoft Windows

Protecting a child on the computer

To protect the child on the computer:

  1. Add the child's profile to Kaspersky Safe Kids.

The profile lets you configure child protection on the computer. The profile stores information about the child's age, the child's user account on the computer, and computer usage rules such as which sites the child is allowed to visit, which applications the child may use, and how much time the child can spend on the computer. If you have added a child's profile on the My Kaspersky portal or via the Kaspersky Safe Kids mobile app, use this profile. If your child does not have a profile, Kaspersky Safe Kids will help you to add it after you install the application on the computer. If you have several children, add a separate profile for every child.

  2. Turn on child protection on the computer.

Protection is enabled when you specify which user account the child should use to sign in to Windows. If the child does not have an account of his or her own, you can create it after adding the profile.

  3. Edit the protection settings, if necessary.

Kaspersky Safe Kids automatically chooses protection settings suitable for your child's age. You can edit the protection settings on My Kaspersky portal in the Children section or in Kaspersky Safe Kids for Android or iOS installed on the parent's mobile device.

Accounts that are not used by the child can be left unprotected. You have to set a strong password for these user accounts, which the child will not be able to guess.
