How to set an allowed area for your child

Kaspersky Safe Kids lets you set an allowed area. The allowed area is the area where the child should be at the time you set. You receive an alert when the child leaves the agreed area with the monitored mobile device.

For example, on weekdays, your child must be in school or on school grounds from 8:00 to 12:00. If at this time, the child leaves school grounds, you will receive an alert.

Alerts, when the child leaves the allowed area, cannot be sent from the child's mobile device without an Internet connection.

You can set an allowed area for the child only in the premium version of Kaspersky Safe Kids.

To set an allowed area for the child:

  1. Tap Settings on the Kaspersky Safe Kids navigation bar.

This opens the settings for child protection.

  2. Select the child for whom you want to set an allowed area.
  3. Tap Where is my child?.
  4. Make sure that the Location monitoring toggle switch is flipped on. By default, tracking of the current location of the child's mobile device is enabled in the premium version of Kaspersky Safe Kids.

To enable the app to track the child's mobile device, make sure that positioning and GPS services are enabled on the child's device.

  5. Tap Add allowed area.

A map showing the current location of your mobile device opens. The allowed area is highlighted in green around the current location of your mobile device.

  6. Set an allowed area for the child on the map.
    • To move the allowed area on the map, drag the central point of the allowed area.
    • To resize the allowed area, drag its corner point.

You can use the address search functionality by typing the address in the Search field to go to the relevant map sector.

  7. Tap Create.
  8. In the Devices inside the area section, select the child's devices based on which you want to determine the child's location and instances of the child leaving the allowed area.
  9. In the Time period section, specify the schedule for the child's presence in the allowed area: day of the week, start time and end time of the child's presence in the allowed area.
  10. Tap Done.

Kaspersky Safe Kids sends you an alert if the child leaves the allowed area during the period that you specified.
