Adding devices to the Trusted list based on the mask of the device ID

By default, when a device is added to the list of trusted devices, access to the device is granted to all users (the Everyone group of users).

To add devices to the Trusted list based on the mask of their ID:

  1. Open the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console.
  2. In the Managed devices folder in the Administration Console tree, open the folder with the name of the administration group to which the relevant client computers belong.
  3. In the workspace, select the Policies tab.
  4. Select the necessary policy and double-click to open the policy properties.
  5. In the Security Controls section, select Device Control.
  6. In the right part of the window, select the Trusted devices tab.
  7. Click the Add button.

The context menu of the button opens.

  8. In the context menu of the Add button, select the Devices by ID mask item.

The Add trusted devices by ID mask window opens.

  9. In the Device type drop-down list select the type of devices to be displayed in the table below.
  10. In the Mask field, enter a device ID mask.

Use the * character when entering a mask. The * character represents any number of any characters. For example, the *disk* mask lets you select all devices whose ID contains the fragment "disk".

Kaspersky Endpoint Security does not support the ? character when entering a device ID mask.

  11. Click the Refresh button.

The table displays the devices that meet the search criteria.

  12. Select check boxes next to the names of devices that you want to add to the list of trusted devices.
  13. Click the Select button to the right of the Allow to users and / or groups of users field.

The standard Select Users or Groups dialog opens.

  14. Select a user or a group in Active Directory and confirm your selection.
  15. Click OK.

In the table on the Trusted devices tab of the Device Control component settings window, a line appears with the settings of the rule for adding devices to the list of trusted devices by the mask of their IDs.

  16. To save changes, click the Save button.
