About Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints protects confidential data that you enter on protected websites (such as banking card numbers or passwords for access to online banking services) and prevents theft of funds during online transactions.
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints embeds a specially configured script into pages of websites. The script is required for interacting with the web page and sending data to licensed banks. The application protects data transmitted by the script using a digital signature. Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints embeds the script both on its own and with the help of the Kaspersky Protection extension.
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints signs data transmitted by the script using the installed anti-virus databases and requests to Kaspersky Security Network. The application sends requests to Kaspersky Security Network regardless of whether or not you accepted the terms of the Kaspersky Security Network Statement.
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints protects the user's confidential data only on the websites of licensed banks. The application does not provide any protection for the user's confidential data on the websites of other banks.
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints performs the following functions:
- Lets you start the browser in mode.
- Protects Internet banking web addresses from being changed by malware.
- Verifies the authenticity of a protected web page, by using a service to verify website certificates.
- Provides DNS protection.
Settings of DNS protection are configured by licensed banks and may vary.
- Searches for, disinfects, and deletes active and inactive malware.
- Checks your computer for operating system vulnerabilities that may be used for theft of private data.
- Prevents interception of personal data that you enter on web pages, by using Secure Data Input.
- Verifies that the web pages you visit are not phishing websites, both in the normal mode of the browser and in Protected Browser mode.
- Scans the kernel memory of the operating system for rootkits at the attempt to access a protected website.
- Prevents spyware from capturing unauthorized screenshots.
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints does not prevent screenshots that are captured by pressing the Print Screen key.
- Prevents copying between unprotected processes.
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention blocks unauthorized access by applications to the clipboard when you make online payments, thus preventing theft of data by criminals. Such blocking is active only if an untrusted application attempts to obtain unauthorized access to your clipboard. If you copy data manually from the window of an application to another application's window (for example, from Notepad to a text editor window), access to clipboard is allowed. If the Internet Explorer browser opened in regular mode is the source of data being copied, only data from the browser address field can be copied to clipboard.
Some application functions are available only in Protected Browser mode, such as protection against copying between unprotected processes or protection against unauthorized screenshots by spyware.
Application functionality depends on the bank that provided you with Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints and may change after updates of databases and application software modules. Depending on the application installation settings that have been specified by the bank, the following windows and functions may not be present in Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints:
- Access to the licensed bank's website in Protected Browser mode
- Application settings window
- Reports window
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints verifies the security of the connection to protected websites regardless of whether or not Protected Browser is used to establish the connection. The application verifies the security of the connection in browsers that meet the software requirements.
Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints may periodically make requests to remote Kaspersky Lab services in the background.
