About database and application module updates
The installation package of Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints includes a light set of databases and application modules. While using the light set of databases, the application provides the delivery security level and detects the majority of threats using Proactive Defense and the cloud-based knowledge base Kaspersky Security Network. An Internet connection is required to use Kaspersky Security Network.
You are advised to update databases and application modules as soon as you install the application so it can detect and disinfect any active infections and provide full protection.
Databases and program modules are updated in stages:
- Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints starts updating databases and application modules automatically or on demand. The application contacts Kaspersky Lab update servers that store a database and application module update package.
- Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints compares the existing databases with those available on Kaspersky Lab update servers. If the databases are different, Kaspersky Fraud Prevention for Endpoints downloads the missing parts of the databases.
To download an update package from Kaspersky Lab servers, an Internet connection is required.
