Configuring the application to work with a proxy server
To connect to the Internet via a proxy server, you may need to configure Kaspersky Security Scan for use with a proxy server.
To configure the application to work with a proxy server:
- In the main application window, click the Settings link.
The Settings window opens.
- In the Settings window, open the Proxy server section.
- Configure the application to work with a proxy server:
- If you do not want the connection to use a proxy server, select Do not use proxy server.
- If you want the proxy server settings to be detected automatically, select Detect proxy server settings automatically.
If the proxy server uses authentication, enter the credentials in the User name and Password fields.
- If you want the application to use proxy server settings that you specified, select Use specified proxy server settings:
- in the Proxy server address field, specify the IP address or domain name of the proxy server
- in the Port field, specify the port number for the connection with the proxy server.
The default port number is 8080.
If the proxy server uses authentication, select the Use proxy server authentication check box and specify the account credentials in the User name and Password fields.
- If you do not want Kaspersky Security Scan to use a proxy server for updating the anti-virus databases and application modules from a local network folder, select the Do not use proxy server for local addresses check box.
The application will use the proxy server in accordance with the settings.
