Kaspersky Password Manager for Microsoft Windows

About data provision

To make protection of your data more effective as you use Kaspersky Password Manager, you can send application runtime statistics to Kaspersky Lab.

About data sent via Kaspersky Security Network

By accepting the terms of the End User License Agreement you agree to automatically send information about application runtime events to Kaspersky Lab:

  • Changes to application windows. Kaspersky Password Manager monitors the operations of opening the main application window and changing the content of active windows. The date and time of each event and the ID of the current window or section are logged.

Statistics on changes in application windows do not contain the master password, IP address of the proxy server, or account credentials of the proxy server user.

  • Changes to application settings. Kaspersky Password Manager monitors changes to values of application settings. The date and time of each event, ID of the modified setting, old and new setting values are logged for each event.
  • Application notifications. Kaspersky Password Manager monitors notifications appearing during operation of the application. The date and time and ID of the notification window are logged for each event.
  • Usage of application interface elements. Kaspersky Password Manager monitors usage of application interface elements (for example: navigation between sections and clicking of buttons). The date and time and ID of the application interface element used are logged for each event
  • Work with browser extensions. Kaspersky Password Manager keeps track of username and password fields on websites. When these fields are detected, the application records the website's address, date and time, relative coordinates of the fields' positions on the website, and the user's anonymized IP address.
  • Application updates. Kaspersky Password Manager monitors every startup of application updates. The following information is logged for each update operation: version of the update component, number of crashed and failed update attempts, ID of the type of update task, ID of an update error after a failed update, information on the operation of the application after the update.

Every transmission of statistics additionally includes the following information:

  • Application name
  • Operating system version
  • Operating system service pack version
  • Application localization
  • Application version (free, Premium)

At the first startup of the application, Kaspersky Password Manager sends the following data to the KSN service:

  • Application ID in the KSN services
  • PPCS ID
  • Full application version
  • Unique ID of the device where Kaspersky Password Manager is installed
  • IP address of the device

The KSN service stores only the first three bytes of the IP address of the device.

Kaspersky Lab protects any information received in this way as prescribed by law and applicable rules of Kaspersky Lab.

Kaspersky Lab uses any received information in anonymized form and as general statistics only. Aggregate statistics are automatically generated from the source information that is received, and do not contain any personal data or other confidential information. The original information received is destroyed as new information is accumulated (once a year). Aggregate statistics are stored indefinitely.
