Creating a monitoring template

To create a monitoring template:

  1. In SolarWinds RMM, in the Devices section, click SettingsMonitoring TemplatesManage Templates.
  2. Click the Add button.
  3. Select the device type to which the template will apply:
    • Add Server Monitoring Template
    • Add Workstation Monitoring Template
  4. Enter the template name.
  5. For the OS, select Windows.
  6. Under Check Frequency, select the Enabled check box.
  7. In the 24x7 Frequency and DSC Run Time drop-down lists, select the schedule of running the checks.

We recommend that you specify the 120-minute interval for 24x7 checks.

  8. Add the checks and tasks to the template.

We recommend that you add the KasperskyUpdateTask task twice: as a regular task that is run on schedule, and as an on-demand task that is run when a check detects too much time has passed since the last anti-virus database update.

We recommend that you add the KasperskyScanTask task only as an on-demand task that is run when a check detects too much time has passed since the last virus scan. Also, configure the background scan in the Kaspersky software solution that you use:

    • In Kaspersky Security Center: Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows policy settings → Local TasksBackground scan.
    • In Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud: Security managementSecurity profiles → <profile name> → WindowsAdvancedPerformanceIdle Scan enabled.
