Running an automated task

After you assign a monitoring template to client devices, the properties of each device contain three automated tasks: a regular virus scan task, an on-demand virus scan task, and an on-demand task to update the anti-virus databases.The exact names of these tasks depend on what you specified when you created a monitoring template. You can additionally run any of these tasks manually, as described in this section.

To run an automated task on a device:

  1. In SolarWinds RMM, in the Devices section, select the client or client site to which the required device belongs.
  2. In the upper-right panel, on the Servers or Workstations tab, select the specific client device.
  3. In the lower-right panel, select the Tasks tab.
  4. Right-click the name of the task that you want to run, and select Run Automated Task.
  5. In the notification window that opens, click OK.

The selected task is run on the selected device.
