Changing the priority of an application network rule
The priority of a network rule is determined by its position in the list of network rules. Firewall executes the rules in the order in which they appear in the list of network rules, from top to bottom. According to each processed network rule that applies to a particular network connection, Firewall either allows or blocks network access to the address and port that are indicated in the settings of this network connection.
Manually created network rules have a higher priority than default network rules.
You cannot change the priority of application group network rules that are created by default.
To change the priority of a network rule:
- In the lower part of the main application window, click the
button. - In the application settings window, select Protection → Essential Threat Protection → Firewall.
- Click the Application rules button.
This opens the list of application rules.
- In the list of applications, select the application or group of applications for which you want to change the priority of a network rule.
- Right-click to open the context menu and select Details and rules.
The application rules and properties window opens.
- Select the Network rules tab.
- Select the network rule whose priority you want to change.
- Use the Up and Down buttons to move the network rule to the desired spot in the list of network rules.
- Save your changes.
